"Hooked on Phonics has been delivering success for more than two decades and we are eager to now serve a new generation of parents, caregivers and teachers through the launch of our redesigned Learn to Read product," said Judy L. Harris, CEO of Smarterville, the company that owns, creates, manufactures and distributes Hooked on Phonics. "We are thrilled to offer, for the first time, an online experience to support parents and teachers as they help children learn."
Learn to Read is Hooked on Phonics' eight level reading program designed for children ages three through eight. The program gives parents and caregivers the tools they need to help children learn the pillars of reading and foster a life-long love of reading. The time-tested approach of Learn, Practice, Read has been preserved, and is now presented with updated materials that correlate to national and state education standards. The new product is approved by the Children's Reading Foundation and enhances learning through storybooks by award-winning authors such as Rosemary Wells; Visual Phonics(TM) (a technique using animation to teach phonics visually); and songs and music videos to engage multisensory learners.
Customers will also receive access to supplemental materials at my.hookedonphonics.com, which include interactive games, downloadable activities, and online progress tracking. This site also includes custom recommendations of books that a child can successfully read after completing different levels of the program.
Families interested in the new Learn to Read product should visit www.learntoread.hookedonphonics.com to find detailed product information, and product demonstration videos for each grade level. New Learn to Read products will be sold at select retailers, including Target, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Walden Books, and Amazon.com, in the coming weeks.
