August 15, 2009

BETHEL WOODS, N.Y., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ — Golden Leaf Pictures has acquired the exclusive worldwide rights to film the concert celebrating the 40th( )anniversary of Woodstock on August 15. Taking place at Bethel Woods, NY — the site of the legendary 1969 event — the day of music will feature a reunion of many of the original “heroes of Woodstock,” performing the same songs and sets that made history 40 years ago. Golden Leaf will capture the event with 3D and 2D cameras for The Road Back To Woodstock: Celebrating 40 Years of Peace and Music at Bethel Woods, a 3D/2D film experience set for release on DVD on October 3, 2009.

“The original 1969 Woodstock festival was a defining moment in rock and roll and in pop culture history overall,” says Dan Nelson, CEO of Golden Leaf Pictures. “We are honored to be involved with the 2009 reunion event, and excited about producing a film that will capture and preserve the day’s great performances, along with commentary by the legendary artists who are participating.”

Nelson is also CEO of Action 3D Entertainment, a leading worldwide provider of high-end stereoscopic 3-D technology for home entertainment and theaters. The company’s state-of-the-art 3-D cameras will be employed at the eight-camera Heroes of Woodstock shoot.

The line-up for the concert, the only official Woodstock 40th anniversary event, includes: Jefferson Starship, Canned Heat, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Country Joe McDonald, Tom Constantan (Grateful Dead), Jock Marcellino, Sha Na Na, Mountain, Melanie and other special guests. Golden Leaf will also film new interviews with these artists — in 3D and 2D — for The Road Back To Woodstock, as well as conversations with promoters and audience members from Woodstock 1969. This exclusive content will offer an extraordinary contemporary perspective on one of the most iconic — and unforgettable — cultural events of the 20th century.

As part of the roll-out for the forthcoming DVD release and theatrical presentation of the 3D/2D film experience The Road Back To Woodstock: Celebrating 40 Years of Peace and Music at Bethel Woods, the “Heroes of Woodstock” will perform additional concerts. Dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
