Daredevil Wallenda walks high wire in Ohio
Daredevil Nik Wallenda of the Great Wallendas daredevil family says everything went smooth with his high wire performance in Mason, Ohio.
The 30-year-old performer said walking nearly 800 feet on a high rope at the Kings Island theme park Saturday represents an activity he has truly learned to love, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
Everything went smooth, said Wallenda, who performed the feat 262 feet in the air without a safety harness.
I absolutely love what I do.
Everything in life is taking the next step, the so-called King of the High Wire added.
Saturday’s high wire act, which took Wallenda nearly 25 minutes to complete, brought the daredevil’s 2009 high wire total to nearly 20.
The Enquirer said Wallenda’s busy 2009 season comes after he set a world record in 2008 for the longest distance spanned by an individual riding a bicycle on a wire.
