Veteran Rehab Specialist, Rafael Ibarra, Joins Alliance Seating & Mobility in Georgia

ATLANTA, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ — Rafael (Rafy) Ibarra, a complex rehab specialist with more than 19 years experience in the healthcare industry, a wheelchair user since 1983 and a 1988 Paralympic Gold Medalist, has joined Alliance Seating & Mobility (ASM), a national, accredited complex rehab company. Ibarra is an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) in the Atlanta, Ga., area for ASM (www.alliance-seating.com) to provide adult and pediatric manual and power mobility solutions for people with severe physical disabilities related to paralysis, cerebral palsy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy and other conditions.

Rafael Ibarra holds the ATP certification through Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). His professional healthcare experience includes account manager, senior account manager and marketing coordinator for Sunrise Medical, one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of medical products in the health care industry; business development manager and assistive technology supplier (ATS) for Option Care, Inc., in Atlanta; and senior product manager and rehab specialist for GF Health Products.

In addition, he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in marketing from California State University in Fresno. He also won a Gold Medal in the 1988 Paralympics in Seoul, Korea, in the Athletics category for 800-meter track, and is the 2008 U.S. Road Racing Handcycle Champion.
