The U.S. rock band Everclear has signed a multi-record contract with 429 Records, a division of the Savoy Label Group, 429 Records announced..
The first offering in the joint venture will be In a Different Light,
a collection of newly interpreted recordings of some of the group's greatest hits.
The album includes two new songs -- Here Comes the Darkness
and At the End of the Day
-- penned by Everclear front man Art Alexakis.
The CD is to be released in North America Oct. 6 by 429 Records, in Australia by Universal Australia and in Europe by Proper Music Distribution.
The band will hit the road in support of the album, playing shows across the United States through the end of the year, starting in the Northeast Oct. 5.
A collection of all new songs is to be released in the spring of 2010 on 429 Records, as well, the label said.
The band is expected to embark on an extensive spring/summer tour to support the second album's release.
