S&P Equity Research Services Adds Detailed Bond Research Offering to MarketScope(R) Advisor

Posted on: Wednesday, 26 August 2009, 09:05 CDT

NEW YORK, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard & Poor's Equity Research Services today announced a major addition to its MarketScope(R) Advisor (MSA) platform with the launch of a new bond research portal. Bonds joins MSA's multi-asset family of research products focused on equities, mutual funds, options and Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), all designed to meet the independent research needs of financial advisors and their clients.

Through the use of this new portal, advisors will be able to monitor market summaries on the news and trends driving the bond market, access the latest commentary and ratings news from Standard & Poor's Ratings Services, and use powerful screening and laddering tools to research and compare approximately 45,000 global bond issuers and more than 200,000 individual bonds, including corporate and municipal offerings and agency bonds, as well as Treasuries. Advisors will also be able to create portfolios using the Bond Ladder Builder, and access calculators as they research various bond issues, seeking potential investment opportunities on behalf of their clients.

"Financial advisors and wealth managers are responding to recent market conditions by diversifying their clients' portfolios into multiple asset classes, and bonds are playing an increasingly important role in these efforts," said Andrea Remyn, a Managing Director at Standard & Poor's Equity Research Services. "By adding this tool to our already robust MarketScope(R) Advisor platform, we're continuing our commitment to bringing high-quality, independent research to the advisor marketplace designed to meet their needs and those of their clients."

In addition to research on equities, bonds, mutual funds, options and ETFs, the MSA platform also gives advisors access to a wide array of analytical tools, including HoldingScan, which provides a detailed look at portfolios and analyzes their contents to show exposure to various asset classes, regions, sectors and individual holdings. The platform also provides advisors with Alerts and Watchlists, which provide them with the ability to stay abreast of specific securities and market activity; and access to independent intra-day market commentary and news.
