Ruben wins ‘Dance Your Ass Off’
A 43-year-old wardrobe designer from Las Vegas was crowned the winner of Oxygen’s competition series, Dance Your Ass Off.
Contestant Ruben won the $100,000 top prize in Monday night’s finale of Oxygen’s dance/weight-loss show. He dropped 74 pounds in 10 weeks and beat out finalists Shayla, who lost 35 pounds, and Pinky, who shed 30 pounds, to win the competition.
Ruben and the rest of the cast are to return during the Dance Your Ass Off
reunion special premiering Monday.
In addition, Ruben can be seen in the upcoming Dance Your Ass Off
workout DVD to be released Sept. 15, Oxygen said.
As the oldest contestant, I felt ‘Dance Your Ass Off’ would be a once in a lifetime chance for me,
Ruben said in a statement. Being on the show enabled me to step out of my life for a few weeks and completely focus on me. I love to dance and if I could lose some weight by doing it, hooray!
The contestants lost a combined total of almost 350 pounds throughout the Dance Your Ass Off
season, which was presided over by singer, dancer and actress Marissa Jaret Winokur.
