Jackson Browne set for solo U.S. tour
Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne says he plans to close out 2009 with a solo acoustic tour in the United States.
The concert series is to begin Nov. 1 at the Forum in Harrisburg, Pa., and end Dec. 7 in Des Moines, Iowa, with a show at the Civic Center. Along the way, he is scheduled to perform in Morristown, N.J.; Scranton, Pa.; Kingston, N.Y.; Brookville, N.Y.; Baltimore; Durham, N.C.; Asheville, N.C.; Savannah, Ga.; Columbus, Ga.; Orlando; Sarasota, Fla.; Clearwater, Fla.; Miami Beach; Austin, Texas; Houston; Linden, Texas; Memphis; and Salina, Kansas.
Browne’s solo acoustic concerts — in which he accompanies himself, alternately, on guitar and piano — are perennial fan favorites, a news release announcing the tour said.
Featuring a different set list every night, Browne pulls songs from throughout his four decades-long career, takes requests from the house and injects storytelling and repartee with the audience into the mix.
