Actor Selleck wins court case over horse
A jury in San Diego County, Calif., has found in favor of TV actor Tom Selleck and his family in regards to a disputed horse sale.
The North County Times of Escondido, Calif., said Saturday the jury awarded Selleck's family more than $187,000 for the family's purchase of a show horse from equestrian Dolores Cuenca.
Magnum P.I.actor's 20-year-old daughter, Hannah, to use in horse competitions.
Cuenca insists Selleck family members failed to properly inspect the animal and its records prior to the sale. The 10-year-old horse named Zorro was sold to the Sellecks for $120,000.
Selleck's attorney, George Knopfler, applauded the jury's award, which includes compensation for boarding costs for the horse since the sale. He offered no comments regarding the upcoming punitive damages portion of the family's legal battle.
We are pleased with the jury's verdict, Knopfler told the North County Times,
and we look forward to the proceedings on Tuesday.
