Kick Off the College Football Season With the Verizon Football Zone on V CAST Video From Verizon Wireless

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- As another college football season swings into action, fans will not miss a single play with games streaming live every Saturday afternoon on the Verizon Football Zone on V CAST Video from Verizon Wireless. The most ardent fans who live and breathe their schools' every pass, run or kick or the casual viewer who just wants to check out the latest scores can choose from at least four live games each week in the sports category in V CAST Video. Fans can also follow their teams throughout the season, and several conference championship and bowl games will also be shown live on V CAST Video in December.

Many people are out of the house or away from a television on weekend afternoons but want to stay connected to what is happening with their favorite teams. The upcoming games feature teams from several of the major conferences across the country and are just some of the more than 100 live sporting events scheduled to be shown on V CAST Video in 2009.

College football fans can also keep up with their favorite teams with Verizon Wireless' ESPN MVP service to get ESPN content, including the teams' rosters, stats, injuries, schedules, news and information on specific players, and the latest sports clips. With the College SuperFans application, fans receive instant access to their favorite college teams, with up-to-the-minute scores, news stories, schedules, AP and BCS polls, conference standings, and game previews and summaries. Verizon Wireless sports fans can also visit www.mediastore.verizonwireless.com and show their school spirit by downloading the wallpaper of their teams' logos or setting their ringtones and ringback tones with their schools' fight songs.

New customers with V CAST-enabled feature phones can check out V CAST Video for a $10.00 monthly subscription, which includes access to full-length television shows plus news, sports, weather and live entertainment and access to the Verizon Wireless ESPN MVP service. There are no megabyte charges to download, stream or watch V CAST content with any V CAST subscription; however, new customers must also subscribe to a data package for a data usage allowance. The new V CAST Video on Demand plan replaces the $15.00 V CAST VPak. These changes will not impact existing customers.
