‘Dirty Dancing’ town plans Swayze tribute
The North Carolina town where Patrick Swayze filmed much of his iconic 1987 movie,
Dirty Dancing, is planning a memorial for the late actor.
Swayze died Monday after a 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.
The State reported that residents of Lake Lure, which doubled in numerous scenes for
Dirty Dancing’s Catskills, N.Y., resort setting, will honor Swayze at a memorial service Saturday evening.
The event is free, however, attendees are being asked to donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the newspaper said.
