‘Dirty Dancing’ town plans Swayze tribute
The North Carolina town where Patrick Swayze filmed much of his iconic 1987 movie,
Dirty Dancing, is planning a memorial for the late actor.
Swayze died Monday after a 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.The State reported that residents of Lake Lure, which doubled in numerous scenes for
Dirty Dancing'sCatskills, N.Y., resort setting, will honor Swayze at a memorial service Saturday evening.
The event is free, however, attendees are being asked to donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the newspaper said.
