U2 to release remastered ‘Unforgettable’

The Irish rock group U2 says it will be releasing a 25th anniversary reissue of its 1984 album The Unforgettable Fire with remastered sound.

Rolling Stone magazine reported Friday the With or Without You rockers announced the Oct. 27 release of their recycled music on the band's official Web site recently.

The reissue of the 1984 album, the fourth released by U2, will be available in CD or vinyl format, along with a limited edition box set and a deluxe edition.

Rolling Stone said the deluxe Unforgettable edition will feature the reissue CD and a second CD containing unreleased material and B-sides.

The limited edition set will include both CDs from the deluxe set, along with a DVD featuring a documentary about the making of Unforgettable, all of the 1984 album's music videos and footage from 1986's Amnesty International Conspiracy of Hope Tour.

Rolling Stone said the latest recycling effort follows the band's reissuing of its first three albums -- Boy, October and War -- last year.
