’30 Rock’ wins Emmy for best comedy
30 Rock won the Emmy Award for outstanding comedy series in Los Angeles Sunday.
The show's leading man, Alec Baldwin, picked up the prize for best actor in a comedy series.
I'll be honest, I'd trade this to look like him, Baldwin joked, referring to presenter Rob Lowe.
I really would, actually. ... I want to say thank you to everybody from the Academy who is responsible for this and congratulations to all the other nominees.
The actor went on to thank his
30 Rock co-star, writer and producer Tina Fey, as well as what he called
the best cast and crew.
He dedicated his award to Lorne Michaels, a
30 Rock producer who is also the head of
Saturday Night Live, a sketch comedy show for which Baldwin has appeared as guest host 14 times.
Baldwin described Michaels as
the greatest boss you could ever have and who has believed in me for all of these years.
I love you, Lorne, he said.
Thank you very much.
