September 30, 2009

CHICAGO, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ — Tribune Interactive today announced the launch of HealthKey.com, an interactive community for managing personal and family health.

Rich in tips and information, HealthKey.com combines the best content from Tribune Company’s powerhouse network of newspapers, television stations and websites, including Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and South Florida Sun Sentinel as well as KTLA-TV in Los Angeles, WGN-TV in Chicago and WSFL-TV in Miami. With a daily dose of health news from across the web, HealthKey.com is a robust resource center and destination site focusing on wellness and prevention.

“HealthKey.com provides consumers with useful information in an entertaining, non-clinical manner,” said Marc Chase, President, Tribune Interactive. “More importantly, Healthkey.com empowers individuals to manage their health choices to achieve a balanced, happy life.”

Throughout October, HealthKey.com will be wrapped in pink in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness month and will focus on breast cancer topics, from the latest research information to coping tips for patients in treatment. HealthKey.com also will feature a Breast Cancer Awareness Calendar of Events (http://www.healthkey.com/calendar/1009/) and a Surviving Beautifully forum page where patients and survivors can share inspirational stories (http://forums.healthkey.com/surviving-beautifully/).

The site’s content segments span a wide range of categories, including general wellness, women and men’s health, healthy aging and fitness. Special sections include House Call, which shares advice from experts, a directory of health topics from A to Z, and go-to glossaries for traditional and alternative health terms. Interactive tools include symptom and drug interaction checkers, calculators for target heart rate and calorie consumption, and a forum for visitors to share and discuss.
