New Ways to Sharpen Technical Communication Skills
Posted on: Wednesday, 28 October 2009, 06:03 CDT
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The trusted name and award-winning industry leader in the Help authoring tool market, Doc-To-Help today announced the release of Doc-To-Help 2009 v3. Doc-To-Help 2009 enables technical communicators, policy writers, and other content creators to author in Doc-To-Help's XML-based editor, Microsoft Word, or HTML (with new or existing documents), and publish to the Web, Help systems, or printed manuals with a single click.
The 2009 v3 release improves the editing experience and project management, and it enhances NetHelp. "We have made project management more efficient by adding features to copy entire projects, open multiple projects at once, manage backups, and more," said Dan Beall, product manager at ComponentOne. "We also understand users want options and more control over formatting, and the v3 release of Doc-To-Help 2009 delivers just that."
Other enhancements include optimized support for Apple Safari and Google Chrome and global search and replace for topic files.
Beall explained that by making a copy of the entire project using a process as familiar as "Save As" and opening multiple projects at once saves time and ensures accuracy by reusing the work already performed. He added the user may work more efficiently given the flexibility of copying items from one project to another and/or comparing two or more open projects simultaneously.
Doc-To-Help shares its knowledge of the industry and the experience of its technical staff by offering online instructor-led training, manuals for self-paced learning, and custom classroom sessions. The Doc-To-Help website has case studies and testimonials where clients have saved an estimated four months of development time, compared to traditional Help tools and reduced development and maintenance costs by 50%.
The full version of Doc-To-Help retails for $1000.00 per user. Those who purchase Platinum support will receive free updates, product enhancements, and new products during its term. The product is available for purchase at www.doctohelp.com or by telephone (800.858.2739 or 412.681.4343).
