Great Lakes Bay Region Scores 2012 Region II United States Youth Soccer Association Tournament

SAGINAW, Mich., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pure Michigan advertising campaign is leveraged to secure the 2012 Region II United States Youth Soccer Association tournament to Michigan's Great Lakes Bay Region (Saginaw, Bay and Midland Counties).
Under the banner of "Pure Michigan - Pure Soccer" the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) in partnership with The Saginaw Soccer Association (SSA), Saginaw Township, Saginaw Valley State University and the Great Lakes Bay Regional Convention & Visitors Bureaus has been awarded the 14 state association Region II United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) tournament to be held at the Saginaw Township Soccer complex in June 2012.
The tournament will host 4,500 players and coaches from 212 soccer teams into the Great Lakes Bay Region for 5 days. The tournament will bring 12,000 to 14,000 visitors from the mid-west states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio north, Ohio south, and Michigan.
The Great Lakes Bay Region will realize at least 7 million dollars of direct spending of dollars as a result of hosting the tournament; allowing the opportunity to showcase the economic revitalization ongoing within the Great Lakes Bay Region.
The Region II United States Youth Soccer Association tournament bid was secured by the collaborative efforts of the Saginaw Soccer Association, Michigan State Youth Soccer Association, the Great Lakes Bay Region Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Saginaw Valley State University, and Saginaw Charter Township.
