Fox cooks with ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ on Monday
By Paul J. Gough
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Hell's Kitchen"
continues to heat up the ratings for Fox.
The cook-off reality show averaged 6.4 million total
viewers and a 3.2 rating/8 share in the adults 18-49
demographic at 9 p.m. Monday, according to preliminary ratings
estimates from Nielsen Media Research. That was enough to win
the time period in the key demo, although a repeat of CBS's
"Two and a Half Men" at 9 p.m. averaged 9.5 million viewers and
a 3.3/9 in the demo.
But "Two and a Half Men's" ratings weren't enough to lift
its lead out, "Rock Star: INXS," to any better ratings that it
had when it debuted last week. "Rock Star" averaged 5.7 million
viewers and a 2.5/7 in the demo, about the same as last week.
"Hell's Kitchen" crushed "Rock Star" -- and everything else --
between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., when "Hell's Kitchen" averaged
6.9 million viewers and a 3.4/9 in adults 18-49.
The night's only other original series, ABC's "The Scholar"
posted more poor grades. It averaged 4 million viewers and a
1.3/4 in the demo to get a fourth-place score in both total
viewers and the demo behind repeats at 8 p.m.
The night's top network in both total viewers and the demo
was CBS (8.1 million, 2.8/8), with Fox (5.8 million, 2.6/8)
coming in second place followed by NBC (5.6 million, 2.0/6) and
ABC (4.9 million, 1.7/5).
