The RGCU Community Gallery was established in the credit union’s new headquarters, located at 301 Rio Bravo SE. In concert with their commitment to the communities that RGCU serves, it was determined that the display of artwork in the public areas of the branch would be beneficial to the area. This is the gallery’s second show since the branch opened in June 2009.
The goals of the public art program are three-fold: To provide art in designated areas of the building without cost to our members; to expose visitors to the works of local artists and to broaden their appreciation for the arts in general; and to offer an opportunity for local artists to have a venue in which to exhibit their work.
Rio Grande Credit Union was founded in 1953, and today serves more than 16,000 members throughout Albuquerque. RGCU’s member base includes employees of the City of Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, the VA Hospital, those living to the west of I-25, and members of Catholic parishes. To learn more about RGCU, visit any branch location, go to www.riograndecu.org, or call (505) 262-1401.
