LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Kate Hudson, who returns
to theaters Aug. 12 with the horror “The Skeleton Key,” has
signed to star opposite Owen Wilson in the comedy “You, Me and
Dupree.” Both projects are set up at Universal Pictures.
“Dupree” revolves around a newlywed couple whose
relationship issues boil over when the groom’s unemployed best
man moves in for a brief period and seems to have no intention
of leaving. TV veterans Joe and Anthony Russo (“Arrested
Development”) will direct “Dupree,” which will go into
production this year.
Hudson’s other credits include “How to Lose a Guy in 10
Days” and “Almost Famous,” for which she won a Golden Globe and
was nominated for a best supporting actress Academy Award.
Wilson is currently in theaters with “Wedding Crashers.”
