Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) Comments on FCC’s Proposed Net Neutrality Rules

    What:  Commenting on the FCC's Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) on
           net neutrality, Kristine van Dillen, director of industry
           initiatives and partnerships for the Mobile Marketing Association

           The MMA will continue to take a proactive and cooperative role with
           the FCC on discussing matters of industry self-regulation.  MMA
           members are strong believers in the economic and progressive
           benefits for industry stakeholders and consumers alike in a self-
           regulatory framework that is built on existing consumer protection
           laws and regulatory policy.  The MMA's Consumer Best Practices
           (CBPs) regulate the manner in which companies and individuals
           practice mobile marketing, along with recourse for reported
           infractions.

           The organization and its members maintain that innovation defines
           the industry that we represent, and we will continue to cooperate
           with the regulatory community to ensure that all the facts are
           clearly understood as it contemplates potential changes to
           existing policy.
