– On The 28th of January 2010 the GALA of Friends of Bezalel Will Take
Place in New York at the Urban Zen Center at the Stephan Weiss Studio

On January 28 2010 a festive GALA event will be held with super designer

Donna Karam as the honoree for friends and supporters of the Bezalel Academy
of Arts and Design Jerusalem. Donna Karan is one of the leading designers in
the world and at the event will give remarks in honor of Bezalel and
activities of the Friends of Bezalel. Every year graduates of Bezalel attend
the event many of whom have achieved success on a world level. Among the
graduates attending this year are the artist Nir Hod.

The event takes place in the presence of Ilan Kauthal the chairman of the
Friends of Bezalel, Professor Arnon Zuckerman the President of Bezalel, and
Adv. Zvika Barak the chairman of the Board of Directors of Bezalel.

During the GALA, videos will be shown with greetings and comments by
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on the importance of Bezalel to Jerusalem and of
Marvat Hakoosh a student from the fashion and design department who is also
the chairperson of the Bezalel student union.

The attendees will receive a gift which is a bottle of wine, with a
special label designed by students from Bezalel with the image of
“Butterflies” from the work of Nir Hod who resides in New York

The program will also include a video of the End of Year Fashion Show
from 2009 and an exhibition of works of the Bezalel Department of Jewelry and
Fashion including clothing, jewelry, and shoes.

Also shown will be animated films by students from Bezalel’s Screen Based
Arts Department.

Among the attendees will be Bezalel alumni living in New York and present
students who are in New York on Bezalel student exchange programs.
