CAF Airs Radio Spots in Key Congressional Districts in Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia

WASHINGTON, March 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Campaign for America’s Future, working with a group of private citizens frustrated with the slow pace of health care reform, this week launched a media campaign in key congressional districts urging Democratic Members of Congress to support health care reform and ignore the criticisms of Republicans who are putting political interests above the well-being of Americans.

“The advertisements are meant to inform and energize independents and rank-and-file Democratic supporters to push forward and encourage their Representatives to pass meaningful legislation during this Congressional session,” said Roger Hickey, co-director of Campaign for America’s Future. “President Obama has laid down an agenda for passage and engaged our country’s leaders. It is up to the Congress to move forward now!”

The campaign will begin with a radio advertisement entitled, “Reform Now,” which will air on stations in New York, N.Y., Philadelphia, Pa., Detroit, Mich., Columbus, Ohio and Charlottesville, Va.

Below is the advertisement. It can also be downloaded at www.ourfuture.org.

“THINK ABOUT IT”

Think about it.

When Republicans controlled the White House and Congress, they could have reformed health care – but they didn’t.

Insurance premiums skyrocketed.

Millions of families were left uninsured.

Thousands of hardworking Americans died from treatable illnesses.

And Republicans did nothing.

Now, we’re close to a reform bill and Republicans are doing everything to stop it.

100% of Republican Senators say they’ll vote ‘NO’ – doesn’t that make you suspicious?

What do they really care about?

The health of American families? Or the health of the insurance companies’ profits?

If a reform bill isn’t passed now our premiums will continue to go up while coverage will keep going down.

Americans want and need reform – support the President and those in Congress who care about us.

Urge them to do the right thing and pass a health care reform bill now.
