African Pygmy Goats Need New Names for New Home in Texas
Contest Highlights Dallas Roars! Festival
DALLAS, April 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — African pygmy goats move to the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo in time for Dallas Roars! – a five-week spring celebration that began Saturday, April 10 and lasts through Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 9. Thanks to sponsor Kimberly-Clark Corporation, this year’s event will be even longer than before with five weekends of fun and adventure. The Dallas Zoo kicks off the event with a naming contest to welcome 11 African pygmy goats to the largest zoological park in Texas. The public is invited to nominate names of cities or towns in Texas and the 11 most popular names will be selected, if appropriate. All those submitting winning names will be entered into a drawing for 11 family memberships to the Dallas Zoological Society. Entry forms are available at DallasZoo.com or at the Zoo ticket booth. Entries will be accepted through Sunday, May 2. The new names and contest winners will be announced before Mother’s Day weekend.
Dallas Roars! also will introduce camel rides the first weekend. Other weekends will feature celebrations for Party for the Planet, Dia de los Ninos, Mother’s Day, and the opening of Butterflies, sponsored by Kimberly-Clark Corporation, a seasonal exhibit opening May 1. A schedule of events can be found at DallasRoars.com. Unless otherwise stated, events and activities for Dallas Roars! will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
