Bay Area Print Shop Graphic Imagery Enjoys Awards Success

May 7, 2010

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., May 7 /PRNewswire/ — Graphic Imagery, Inc. has received multiple awards for outstanding work from trade associations that represent printers in the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California and Northern Nevada. From the San Francisco Club of Litho and Printing House Craftsmen, Graphic Imagery received two Gold Impression Awards and a Best in Category Impression Award. From the Visual Media Alliance (formerly Printing Industries of Northern California, or PINC), the company received two Silver Print Excellence Awards.

Graphic Imagery’s work was selected from hundreds of entries submitted by printing and graphic arts firms. Graphic Imagery’s own holiday card was honored; the piece was painstakingly printed on the company’s Heidelberg windmill letterpress in three colors on each side with great attention to registration, ink density and impression depth. Also honored was a professional photographer’s promotional book, printed by Graphic Imagery on its HP Indigo 5500 digital press, with meticulous attention to color consistency and image quality.

“We are delighted to have our work praised and appreciated by the industry,” said Stuart Imison, president of Graphic Imagery. “It was also good to see both traditional and new printing processes recognized. The letterpress form of printing goes back hundreds of years, and has been enjoying a revival of sorts. At the other end of the spectrum, our digital press is about as modern and technologically advanced as it gets.”

While Graphic Imagery enjoyed award success this year with letterpress and digital printing projects, the company also offers offset lithographic printing, as well as bookmaking and other bindery and finishing services.
