Founder and CEO of TideSmart Global, Stephen Woods, surrounded by a large crowd Friday afternoon of local and state officials, community members, family and friends, spoke on the significance of the event, “At TideSmart Global, we specialize in direct engagement (sometimes called ‘face-to-face’ or ‘experiential’ marketing). For over thirty years, we have developed, supported and managed award-winning businesses across diverse industries and audience segments.”

Woods continued, “Not only are we celebrating a ground breaking event here on our campus, but also the launch of a new and innovative business philosophy. In short, think of our campus here as a garden of human enterprise. From today going forward, our approach will be to integrate and focus the physical elements (building, land, trees, etc.) with the human dimension (people, passion, creativity, etc) through an ideology that promotes our core values; health, wellness, community, family, environment and honorable business practices.”

Woods attributes the reality of the project to funds made available through federal and state stimulus programs. Out of gratitude for the opportunity and support through these programs, Woods presented both President Obama (not present) and the Governor with a commemorative stone pulled from the construction site and engraved with the ceremony’s name and date. “For the TideSmart Global Business Garden to grow and prosper, we need the help and support of friends, family, business associates, community members, and local, county, state and national leaders.” He continued, “There has never been a better time to expand TideSmart Global’s operations and the economic incentives offered through federal and state stimulus programs have enabled us to harness this opportunity.”

Baldacci addressed the audience and remarked, “I’ve never seen so much enormous earth work done in the state of Maine.” He continued, “To have an economic push like this in Maine is huge. It’s an opportunity for the state of Maine to have ripple impacts throughout the country because of the clients that Steve has and the economic development that he represents and his interest in making sure Maine is successful.”
