KCBS Offering 25 Free Recipes in Time for July 4th Cookouts
KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 28 /PRNewswire/ — Know how to make Smoked Philly Cheesesteak? How about BBQ Enchiladas? Well, now’s the time to learn, thanks to the Kansas City Barbeque Society, which is making 25 select recipes from its cookbook available online just in time for July 4th cookouts.
As the world’s largest organization of competitive barbeque cookers and enthusiasts, KCBS has built up quite a reservoir of award-winning – not to mention, creative – recipes for outdoor cooking. In honor of Independence Day and to mark its 25th anniversary, KCBS is providing free online access to 25 of the 200-plus recipes in the latest edition of its anniversary cookbook.
“July 4th is the biggest home barbequing holiday of the year,” said Carolyn Wells, executive director of KCBS. “It’s a time for family and friends to get together and enjoy cooking and eating ‘America’s Cuisine.’ We want to help make everyone’s backyard barbeque even better by providing a sampling of the more than 200 recipes that are included in the 25th Anniversary Edition of the KCBS Cookbook.”
The recipes, available at www.kcbs.us, include Strawberry BBQ Sauce, Bourbon Sweet Potato Pie, BBQ Enchiladas and Smoked Philly Cheesesteak, among others. The free recipes are only available online until July 5th; after that, anyone who wants to know how to make Seasoned Butter Baste or Barbeque Pasty with a KCBS flair will have to buy the KCBS Cookbook.
“Of course, anyone can buy the book from many of the country’s best-known traditional and online retailers,” said Wells. “But I think after seeing how good the 25 free recipes are, backyard barbequers will want to get a hold of the cookbook as soon as possible!”
As an added treat, KCBS is providing autographed copies of the cookbook when ordered directly from the KCBS office in Kansas City. For more information on how to receive an autographed copy, visit www.kcbs.us/25th-anniversary.php.
It’s estimated that more than 4,500 teams compete on the national KCBS barbeque circuit. With more than 13,000 members, KCBS has been sanctioning events and training certified barbeque judges nationwide for more than 20 years. Using an objective, blind judging process, the society sanctions more than 300 barbeque competitions throughout the nation each year. For more information about KCBS, visit www.kcbs.us.
