Nation’s Youngest Rock Band to Perform at Wildwater Kingdom

July 12, 2010

AURORA, Ohio, July 12 /PRNewswire/ — Get blown away when Recess, the youngest national rock band, will perform at Geauga Lake’s Wildwater Kingdom on Saturday, July 17. The popular classic rock kids’ band will be in concert at the outdoor waterpark located in Aurora, Ohio, from 1-3 p.m. on the Tidal Wave Bay wave pool deck.

Originally from Cleveland, Recess features five talented young musicians between the ages of 10-14 years old. Members include brothers Vincent Fondale, 10, singing vocals and Anthony Fondale, 14, on the keyboard; 13-year-old Elliott Dibur on guitar; Alexis Shook, 13, playing bass guitar; and drummer Arslyan Khan, 14.

The band became nationally known in April 2009 for a video performance of Journey’s Separate Ways that was recorded for the 11th Annual Kids Show. They have been featured on national TV and radio stations including The Rachel Maddow Show of MSNBC, WABC TV in New York and numerous other stations across the U.S.

Alex and Vince have also garnered some individual recognition since their Recess success. Last November, they were finalists in the Cleveland Cavaliers Top Talent Contest. Alex won the competition and performed at a Cleveland Cavaliers game. Vince went on to sing the National Anthem at a Cleveland Cavaliers game earlier this year.

This weekend, the park will also offer an admission ticket/meal deal that will be available Saturday and Sunday, July 17 & 18. With a Meal Deal, guests will receive admission to the park along with a meal consisting of regular-sized soft drink, french fries and choice of a cheeseburger, jumbo dog or slice of pizza. Tickets can be purchased online at wildwaterfun.com.

In addition to the Recess concert, guests will be able to challenge the 60-foot-tall Liquid Lightning tornado slide, Thunder Falls, a 10-story-tall slide complex, and the Tidal Wave Bay wave pool.

For young families, children can play in the new Beach Family Fun Area, a new children’s attraction that features a giant chessboard with movable pieces. There is also an arcade and a sandy beach area overlooking Geauga Lake.

Wildwater Kingdom is now open daily through Aug. 22. For additional information about Wildwater Kingdom, please visit wildwaterfun.com or call the park’s General Information Line at 330.562.8303.
