Michael Schneider to Chair FDU Corporate Advisory Board

July 27, 2010

MADISON, N.J., July 27 /PRNewswire/ — Dr. Jennifer Lehr, chair of the department of communication studies and director of the master of arts program in corporate and organizational communication at Fairleigh Dickinson University, announced last week that Michael Schneider of Global Crossing will be serving as the inaugural chair of the program’s Corporate Advisory Board.

“The Advisory Board has been in place since 2004, and we are excited that we can now have someone from the corporate sector functioning as the chair of that body,” said Lehr. She added, “I’ve known Mike Schneider for several years and couldn’t think of a better person to take on this position.”

Michael Schneider is the senior director of media relations at Global Crossing and serves on the Disclosure Committee. He is the main external contact for C-level executives, corporate issues, crisis management, social responsibility, corporate earnings, and new media for this global telecommunications company. Schneider has taught numerous graduate-level courses at FDU, including oral presentation, corporate relations, media relations and others. Prior to Global Crossing, Schneider was a vice president at Success Communications, and before that a member of Prudential’s global public relations team.

The Corporate Advisory Board includes key individuals from the corporate communications field who serve as advisors to the program’s faculty to ensure that content covered in the classroom is consistent with what’s happening in the corporate world. Advisory board members also assist with recruitment and marketing of the program, guest lecture for selected graduate courses and assist with the capstone examination that many students complete in lieu of writing a thesis.

Other members of the board include:

Michael Cherenson, vice president of the Success Communication Group

Guy Fielding, director of research and development for horizon2 in the United Kingdom

Marc T. Goldstein, associate director of national broadcast for Active International
