July 29, 2010

NEW YORK, July 29 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Logo unveiled the redesign of two of its trademark digital properties AfterEllen.com and AfterElton.com. Serving the interests of the LGBT community, AfterEllen.com and AfterElton.com produce original content showcasing the latest in popular culture and news in TV, film and music. Southwest Airlines signed on as relaunch partner for this venture which includes a complete revamp of both sites, offering viewers easier navigation, faster access to content and an updated aesthetic.

While Southwest Airlines has been a long time partner of LOGOonline’s news-based web holding 365gay.com and travel property TripOutGayTravel.com, this new partnership marks Southwest Airline’s first marketing integration into Logo’s entertainment websites. Southwest Airlines messaging will be incorporated into both sites along with new high-impact advertising units and a sweepstakes designed to help drive deeper brand awareness for the airline among key LGBT travelers.

“Partnering with Southwest Airlines makes perfect sense for Logo whose viewers are passionate about travel,” said Lisa Sherman Executive Vice President and General Manager, Logo. “They have been one of Logo’s most loyal and biggest online advertisers and we’re honored to have such a great ally.”

“Southwest Airlines has a history of reaching out to the various and diverse communities we serve,” stated Andy Allmann, Southwest Airlines Director of National Strategic Partnerships. “Our ongoing partnership with Logo has enabled Southwest to reach new audiences in our efforts to offer low fares and excellent Customer Service to the nation’s most popular destinations.”

To help celebrate their relaunch, AfterEllen.com is heading out on the road with Melissa Etheridge this summer as a presenting sponsor of her “Fearless Love 2010 Summer Tour.” In conjunction with the partnership, AfterEllen.com will feature exclusive photos, live concert video and weekly interactive polls on all things “Etheridge.” Additionally, AfterEllen.com has launched a Melissa Etheridge sweepstakes that will send one lucky winner to Las Vegas compliments of Southwest Airlines and will award two tickets to attend the final performance of Melissa Etheridge’s “Fearless Love 2010 Summer Tour.” The last day to enter is August 6, 2010.
