Prather, 55, has served as Orlando Park Operations Vice President since May 2010. Previously, he led the company’s Williamsburg, Va. water park, Water Country USA.

“There are few executives in our company that have Terry’s breadth and depth of experience,” Brown said. “In addition to critical park operations, maintenance, water quality, animal life support, ride safety and environmental health experience, he has succeeded in top management roles in our parks and for those operated by other companies in our industry.”

Prather started his SeaWorld career in maintenance and water quality for SeaWorld San Antonio, where he worked from the park’s inaugural in 1988 to 1997. During his tenure, the park’s security, safety and environmental health functions were added to his responsibility.

Prather left SeaWorld San Antonio in 1997 to serve as managing director of San Antonio’s Witte Museum. He held that position until being named Vice President and General Manager of the park that would become Six Flags New Orleans. He was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of Six Flags America in Bowie, Md. in 2006. He returned to SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in May 2008.

Prather and his wife Shayla have five adult children and six grandchildren.
