Just Published Baseball Book: ‘Through The Seams’ by Raleigh Author Eileen C. Anderson

January 26, 2011

RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Baseball fans can enjoy the sport year-round with the new book “Through The Seams,” baseball-inspired verse by Raleigh author Eileen C. Anderson. Released just in time for spring training, the book covers the game and its correlation to the world outside the ballpark.

As the great-grand niece of the 1918 Boston Red Sox Championship pitcher Jean Dubuc, Anderson has baseball in her DNA. “I see events and relationships in baseball that exist in everyday life,” said Eileen. “The greater purpose and meaning of baseball has become a tool to articulate truths and reflections of our daily lives.”

A passage from the book’s epilogue:

“…Good, evil, exhilaration, disappointment, perseverance, hope, despair, anger, support, and above all, love – every emotional component and physical encounter common to the human condition are encapsulated in our baseball experience.

Just ask any Red Sox fan who’s been on board since the era of Pesky, Williams, Yaz – or any Cubs fan – it takes guts.”

Most of the poetry was written while balancing raising children, working full time and finishing her Bachelor’s degree; the parallels between life on and off the field were easily recognizable. She has dedicated this book to her family and friends to whom she attributes her many life successes, as well as other baseball fans with whom she shares her baseball spirit.

To further expand the positive impact this book will have on its readers, Ms. Anderson will be donating $1 for every book sold to Causelife (www.causelife.org) to help provide clean water to at-risk populations.

The book is priced at $15.95 and is available online through Amazon, Barnes and Noble; the E book format is available at $5 through Outskirts Press.
