Brunswick Group Opens New Office in Dallas

NEW YORK and DALLAS, Feb. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Brunswick Group LLC, a leading corporate communications partnership, today announced the opening of a new office in Dallas, Texas. The Dallas/Fort Worth office is Brunswick’s fourth office in the U.S. and its 17th office globally. The opening reflects a growing client base of corporations in the U.S. that require senior-level support for critical business issues and serves as an important international link in Brunswick’s global network.

The office will be led by Managing Partner Jim Wilkinson, and Brunswick’s newest partner, Mark Palmer. Wilkinson has extensive experience at Brunswick in international corporate and financial communications, litigation communications and crisis management. Prior to Brunswick, Wilkinson served in many key international roles, including serving as Chief of Staff for the U.S. Treasury Department for Secretary Henry M. Paulson. At Treasury he served as Paulson’s senior strategist and counselor, and worked on matters of finance and crisis management.

Brunswick appointed Mark Palmer as a Partner in the Dallas office. Palmer brings more than 25 years of experience in corporate communications, crisis management, litigation communications and financial transactions. Mark was previously vice president, corporate communications and organizational effectiveness at Sysco Corporation, based in Houston.

Jim Wilkinson

Jim Wilkinson has extensive experience in international corporate and financial communications, financial management, strategy, and crisis management. Prior to Brunswick Jim served as Chief of Staff for U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, serving as Paulson’s senior strategist and counselor, and working on matters of financial policy and crisis management. Before Treasury, Wilkinson served as Senior Advisor to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and in The White House as Deputy National Security Advisor for Communications with Rice. Wilkinson previously served as Director of Strategic Communications for General Tommy R. Franks at U.S. Central Command, and in The White House as Deputy Director of Communications. Wilkinson worked for many years in the U.S. Congress, and also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He has also taught international relations and communications at The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, and the JHU graduate school of government.

Mark Palmer

Mark Palmer is a partner in the Dallas/Fort Worth office. Mark brings more than 25 years of global experience in corporate communications, crisis management, litigation communications and financial transactions. Mark was previously vice president, corporate communications and organizational effectiveness at Sysco Corporation, based in Houston. While at Sysco, Mark built a best-in-class communications program focused on integrating corporate strategy, change management, and internal engagement. Prior to Sysco, Mark was managing director of the Media Relations Practice Group at Public Strategies, Inc., where he helped clients navigate issues including executive transition, international mergers, Congressional and Justice Department investigations, regulatory changes, and litigation. From 1996 to 2004, Mark was at Enron Corp., where he served as managing director and senior vice president, global communications. At Enron, Mark was responsible for internal and external communications, executive communications, and corporate brand management. During his tenure, Mark worked through several high-profile regulatory campaigns, multi-billion dollar acquisitions, and Enron’s bankruptcy and subsequent restructuring. Prior to Enron, Mark worked at Fina Inc. where he served as general manager of corporate communications. Mark received his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism.
