“This edition of DMFE is especially exciting as it features a diverse array of speakers ranging from some of the hottest start-ups from the ‘new’ music industry to the senior most executives from established entertainment companies and top brands,” said Ned Sherman, founder and CEO of Digital Media Wire. “Gary Shaprio will also contribute an invigorating keynote that resonates not only to a once disheveled music business that is reinventing itself, but also to America’s core as we innovate our way out into a new era.”

The event is the industry’s only comprehensive digital music conference focused on the evolution and future of digital music. The conference agenda, which includes senior participants from major labels, leading indie labels, social networks, online music retailers, mobile companies, artists and association heads, includes top keynotes, discussions and panels on topics including mobile apps, the state of the digital union, music in the cloud, online video, digital innovation, investments, the digital copyright debates, rights management, live music, touring & concerts, social networking and building music community.

Gary Shapiro, President & CEO, Consumer Electronics Association, will keynote at the 2011 event. Coming off the highly successful 2011 International CES and the release of his new book “The Comeback: How Innovation will Restore the American Dream,” which has already reached No. 1 on the Barnes & Noble best-seller list and is in the top 10 on Amazon.com, Shapiro will be featured in a fireside chat covering a range of topics focused around his views about how innovation can fuel progress and ultimately save the content and music industries.

Dermot McCormack, EVP of Digital Media, MTV Networks Music & Logo will also join the event, speaking on the topic of “More Than Music Videos: Why today’s music fan wants a 360 curated music experience that includes a diversity of music content and digital products”.
