Norfolk Financial CEO Takes ‘Lead’ Role in Community Theater Productions
BOSTON, Feb. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — The Little Theatre of Stoughton’s 54th season, which begins Friday with a production of the musical “Annie,” comes this year with both a financial and personnel contribution from Norfolk Financial Corp., a Boston-based consumer debt purchaser.
Daniel Goldstone, Norfolk’s CEO, has not only underwritten the cost of the play’s musicians but stars alongside “Annie” as the industrialist and philanthropic Lt. General Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks.
“It’s typecasting,” jokes Goldstone, a Wellesley native. “But actually I get a great kick out of helping community theater as well as showcasing whatever acting talents I may – or may not – have”
Shows will be 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 11-13, and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the West Street School, 1322 Central St., Stoughton. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for seniors and students, and may be purchased at the theater’s website, at Bob’s Market, Page’s and from the cast.
It’s not the first time Goldstone and Norfolk have sponsored community theater productions. Last fall, Norfolk co-sponsored a production of “Chicago” for the Quannatpowitt Players, Quality Community Theater on Boston’s North Shore in which Goldstone also had a role.
Norfolk and Goldstone have been active in other charitable endeavors including participating in “Banking On Our Future,” a national non-profit organization for financial education of youth administered by Operation Hope.
