The Museum of the African Diaspora (San Francisco) and Clorox Team Up for Free Family Day During Black History Month

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — A free Family Day at the Museum of the African Diaspora Saturday, February 19, 2011, 11 am to 6 pm, offers visitors an opportunity to celebrate Black History Month in an enriching setting, thanks to the generosity of The Clorox Company.

“The Clorox Company is excited to be able to come alongside MoAD and help make it possible for families, friends and supporters to enjoy a free day during Black History Month,” said Erby Foster, Director, Diversity & Inclusion, The Clorox Company.

Visitors to MoAD February 19 will have much to explore. They can enjoy performances from the Oaktown Jazz Ensemble in the MoAD Salon 2­4 pm, and participate in an African American Quilting traditions art activity with Artist Nicole Dixon from 2-4 pm. They can also join a genealogy workshop in the Wells Fargo Heritage Center 12-4 pm. And throughout the day, guests may view the popular new visual arts exhibit, “Textural Rhythms: Constructing the Jazz Tradition, Contemporary African American Quilts,” which drew over 500 attendees during its opening reception on January 28.
