How to Create Value in the Digital Economy? Find out at the World Copyright Summit (Brussels, June 7-8, 2011)
Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) announced the third edition of the
World Copyright Summit – 7 &
societies, policy makers, key digital and entertainment industry players and
consumer representatives will meet to exchange views and debate about the
future of intellectual property and creative content (music, books, movies,
pictures) in the digital environment.
2011 Keynote Speakers include as of today:
- Robin Gibb, legendary singer and songwriter of the Bee Gees
and CISAC President
- Ivo Josipovic, President of Croatia and music composer
- Herve Di Rosa, French visual artist, CISAC Vice-President and
ADAGP Vice-President
- European Commissioners Michel Barnier (Internal Market and
Services) and Neelie Kroes (Vice President of the European Commission -
Digital Agenda)
- Roger Faxon, EMI Group CEO
- Francis Gurry, Director general of WIPO (World Intellectual
Property Organization)
- Arnaud Nourry, Hachette Livre Chairman and CEO
During two days of conferences, more than 100 speakers and 600
participants will engage in constructive dialogue exploring viable business
models for the digital distribution of creative works that would respect the
interests of all stakeholders: creators, users and consumers.
Digital disruption, which is spreading well beyond the music sector into
other creative fields, will be a key topic of the Summit, while very
important pieces of legislation and regulations in the fields of copyright,
collective licensing and the digital economy are currently being discussed in

economy”, reflects the three main themes to be addressed during this two-day
conference:
- Create: The global eco-system for creators and creative
industries
- Connect: The digital economy and new business models
- Respect: Authors' rights and the legislative & social
environment
