One Million Tickets to London 2012 Olympics Reserved for Fans Outside the U.K. and E.U.

LONDON, March 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ – The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) announced today that the application process is now open for tickets to the London 2012 Olympic Games. Sports fans around the world can apply for tickets via their individual country’s National Olympics Committee (NOC) or Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR). Up to one million tickets will be available to fans outside the U.K. and E.U. LOCOG published the Olympic Games schedule earlier this year, with 645 separate sessions currently planned across 26 sports. Events will take place at 34 venues around the city including the Olympic Park, as well as other iconic London locations such as Greenwich Park in southeast London, House Guards Parade in central London and the All England Lawn Tennis Club – home of the prestigious Wimbledon tennis championships. There will also be events outside of London in Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour, the Lee Valley White Water Centre and Eton Dorney, located near Windsor Castle.

Applications for tickets will be accepted between March 15 and April 26, 2011, at any time. It is not a first come, first serve system and there is no advantage to applying earlier in the process. For sessions where demand exceeds supply, LOCOG will use an automated and random selection process to ensure the fairest possible allocation of tickets for those sessions.
