Wines of Washington Promotion & Peterson Media Team Up to Market Wine Yakima Valley’s Red Wine & Chocolate Event
SEATTLE, April 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Wines of Washington Promotion, an interactive and integrated marketing and design agency based in Seattle, teamed up with Peterson Media, a media buying service based in Portland, OR, to assist Wine Yakima Valley (www.WineYakimaValley.org) on an integrated media buy with value-added promotional marketing for their annual area-wide “Red Wine & Chocolate” event.
The buy required immediate and intense scrutiny given the implosion of Smooth Jazz Station, KWJZ-FM, in Seattle prior to the advertising window for this special event to be held throughout the Yakima Valley.
“Peterson Media was key to quickly discovering where the mainstream wine drinker had migrated in their listening habits since KWJZ-FM went off the air,” said Barbara Glover, Marketing Director for Wine Yakima Valley. “Leslie Peterson and her team did an outstanding job of rapidly establishing just where these listeners went and mapping out a detailed radio/digital campaign.” Together Peterson Media and Wines of Washington Promotion developed value-added promotional spins working closely with the client and the radio stations.
“Based on specific and immediate requirements, we went with stations: KRWM-FM, and KING-FM.” said, Peterson. “They were extremely flexible and highly responsive to the client needs with such a hot deadline. In addition, Peterson negotiated additional on-air promotional exposure and used the station’s digital assets with banners/links with on-line ticket contests. All tactics supported the event on station’s sites that resulted in fun, energized value-added concepts that were developed as a real team effort.”
Said Glover, who handles RED WINE & CHOCOLATE, SPRING BARREL TASTING and CATCH THE CRUSH events, among others, for the region, “Given these tough economic times and the accelerating price of gas, the overall results were remarkable.”
