Aristotle Circle and LaunchPad Learning Announce Strategic Partnership to Enhance Literacy Among American Children
METUCHEN, N.J., April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — LaunchPad Learning of New Jersey and Aristotle Circle of New York have joined forces with the goal of improving reading levels of children across the United States. LaunchPad’s web-based reading tool will empower parents to help their children become better readers and better learners. By partnering with Aristotle Circle, a leading school admissions advisor, more parents will have access to the LaunchPad tool through their extensive network of parents and children throughout the United States.
“Aristotle Circle strives to bring the best learning materials and expert advice to our clients, and the LaunchPad reading tool fits right in with our mission,” explained Suzanne Rheault, CEO and founder of Aristotle Circle.
“I’ve met many parents who are frustrated by their inability to find books that their children want to read,” explained Ed Monagle, CEO and Founder of LaunchPad Learning. “Reading experts agree that if you want children to enjoy reading, you need to supply them with books they like, and books that are on their level. The problem is that most parents do not know what their child’s reading level is and it is also difficult to buy books based on reading level.”
The LaunchPad program includes a twelve-month subscription to the Total Reader test, which will compute a reading level expressed as a Lexile measure. LaunchPad will ship two books each month that are on level and in the child’s interest category.
LaunchPad Learning is a New Jersey based corporation that was incorporated in July 2008. It is one of the first companies to focus on empowering parents to embrace the mission of improving reading levels across the United States. LaunchPad has built a team of professionals from publishing, technology, distribution systems, and parents who care about making a difference in the lives of children.

Voluntary reading outside of the school environment, especially during the summer months, has been proven by researchers to be one of the critical factors in determining academic success. In fact, research by Dr. James Kim, Ed.D of Harvard University shows that reading loss during the summer, the most vulnerable time for children, can be avoided by giving children books that match both their interests and reading level. In Dr. Kim’s study, the Lexile Framework for Reading was the standard used to scientifically measure reading levels in his test subjects.
