CrowdPicks.com Names Ed Shada as President

May 10, 2011

OMAHA, Neb., May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — CrowdPicks.com, a Las Vegas style sports crowdsourcing, and social network, has announced today that Ed Shada will join the company in the role of President, effective immediately. In his new role, Shada will be responsible for aligning resources to achieve the company’s strategic vision and will have day-to-day responsibility for directing and managing sales and marketing.

Mr. Shada previously was co-founder and subject matter expert for Puremarkets.com, one of the first online equipment finance marketplaces launched in April of 2000. Mr. Shada also brings with him over 20 years leadership and start-up experience in the finance industry for Westpac Banking Corp., Advanta Financial Corp, and Clayton Brown & Associates.

Mr. Shada has assembled a marketing team to promote the website and drive new users and subscribers to the website. “The powerful ‘Picks Filters’ tools on CrowdPicks.com are unique and unmatched by any sports website I have seen,” states Mr. Shada, “There has been no accurate way to predict the outcome of a sporting event, especially when using Las Vegas odds-makers points. Having the ability to predict 50% of the games is only breakeven at best. CrowdPicks has been able to improve the odds of predicting winners to well over 60% for its Smart Picks and in some cases the odds have been as high as 95%.”

CrowdPicks is incorporated in Nebraska, and was co-founded by Jeff Murnane and Cassius Almeida, two former TD Ameritrade executives. CrowdPicks.com allows the fans to be the experts and they compete head-to-head for an opportunity to prove it. While the site is free to play, users can subscribe for premium services such as the picks data filtering tools and “IntelliPicks”, the official picks from CrowdPicks created through the collective intellect of the top pickers. Members can also share in the CrowdPicks.com revenue if their picks data is sold to the premium member base. To date CrowdPicks.com has had 2.2 million picks entered and currently has 4,500 members.
