Havalon Knives Debuts Replaceable Blade Baracuta-Blaze for Hunters
CINCINNATI, June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — For hunters that believe bigger is better, the company has released the new Havalon Baracuta-Blaze. It’s the same lightweight replaceable blade concept as their popular Piranta knives, but offers larger and longer blades:
- 4-3/8″ Japanese stainless steel blade named #115XT
- 50% thicker than the Piranta #60XT blades
- Skinner blade edge design
- Overall length of 10-3/8″
- Weighs only 3 ounces
- 5 replacement blades included with each knife
The Baracuta-Blaze also features an easy-to-find blaze orange ABS handle, black rubber grip inserts, an open back for easy cleaning, ambidextrous thumb studs, liner lock and a removable pocket clip.
Havalon Knives began in 2005 with the release of the Piranta series of skinning knives with Quik-Change(TM) blades. Havalon has since become popular with hunters, trappers and taxidermists due to their true surgical sharpness and extremely light weight. Havalon’s replaceable blades eliminate the need to carry heavy skinning knives, sharpeners and whetstones into the field. “So many hunters have told us they simply will use nothing but our Piranta knives for skinning big game,” says Paul Schwartz, division sales manager of Havalon Knives. “But at every exhibition, we have requests for a bigger blade and bigger handle. So for those that believe bigger is better, we’re happy to meet their needs with our new Baracuta-Blaze.”
The Baracuta-Blaze blades and handle are interchangeable with the current line of Baracuta(TM) fillet knives. Now outdoor enthusiasts have two blade options to fit their Baracuta knives: skinning blades and fillet blades. For the value conscious, the #115XT blades are thick enough to be re-sharpened if desired. The added thickness of steel reduces breakage from sideways or twisting pressure.
