Nation’s Top Pisco Brands Unite at Tales of the Cocktail

SAN FRANCISCO, July 12, 2011 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — In an unprecedented spirit of collaboration, the nation’s leading Pisco brands have united to create a Pisco Pavilion at this year’s Tales of the Cocktail event in New Orleans (July 20-24).

The Pisco Pavilion will take place at the Hotel Monteleone (Royal C & D Room) on Wednesday July 20, from 10:30am to 12:00pm. Visitors will taste the broadest array of premium Pisco offered at Tales of the Cocktail, while engaging directly with the importers and producers of the brands regarding ease of mixability and the broad diversity of Pisco grape varieties and styles being produced.

Pisco is a clear spirit, distilled from fresh wine and bottled at proof. Different from most spirits, Peruvian Pisco has no additives–no flavorings, no sugar, not even water–it is, simply put, the distilled essence of grapes. The past few years have seen a dramatic surge in the Pisco category. Sales of Pisco in the United States rose 88% in 2010, making it one of the fastest growing spirits in the US.
