A new cooking show with a message launches July 21 on the internet at www.flavoursofthebiosphere.ca.

TORONTO, July 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ – Flavours of the Biosphere – Niagara Escarpment is a unique independent video series. The show features dishes inspired
by local food with cutaways highlighting the wonders, fun and
importance of the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve and Ontario
Greenbelt – stories told by the people who live and work there.

“We have 13 shows to broadcast on the web throughout the summer and fall
and 13 more in production for a second season,” said Niagara Escarpment
Biosphere Fund Communications Director Teri Trent.

Chef John Cirillo CCC, twice named Chef of the Year by the Escoffier
Society of Toronto, and President of Les Toques Blanches, Toronto hosts
the show. Chef Cirillo is an international Culinary Olympics
award-winner and former Executive Chef with Hilton Hotels in Canada and
internationally. He is owner of Cirillo’s Culinary Academy and Oregano
by Cirillo’s in Toronto.

“John has an easy-going, easy-to-follow manner,” said Ms. Trent. “He is
passionate about cooking and teaching people how to cook. He calls it
‘tasteful edu-tainment’.”

Chef Cirillo is assisted by Anthony Regan, media personality and 11
years the host of Rogers’ Daytime Toronto. Anthony loves cooking and has interviewed many of the world’s top
chefs and culinary experts. 

“The recipes are fresh, healthy and delicious, made with products that
support local farmers,” she said. “And the Escarpment environment is
good for all of us and a great place to explore.”

The first four shows air on Thursday, July 21: Potatoes a la Boulangere,
Lamb Shanks, Stuffed Roast Pork and the classic Coq au Vin. More shows
follow bi-weekly at www.flavoursofthebiosphere.ca.

NEBF is a registered charitable organization that aspires to protect the
diversity of plants, animals and micro-organisms that make up Niagara’s
living biosphere. The Flavours of the Biosphere video series is designed to enhance awareness of the unique environment
of the Escarpment while encouraging tourism and support for local food
producers.
