Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo’s Dream Wedding in the BVI to be Featured on TLC

NEW YORK, July 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo said "I do" on exclusive Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands July 15th and television channel TLC's cameras were there to document the momentous occasion. On Saturday, July 30th from 9-11pm, TLC will air Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding, a two-hour special that follows the celebrity couple in the months leading up to the wedding, as well as their actual Necker Island nuptials.

Lachey, host of The Sing-Off, and Minnillo, the new host of Wipeout, exchanged vows atop a cliff overlooking the cerulean blue waters of the BVI. 35 close friends and family were flown in to the private island for this surprise event, and the bride and groom arrived via a private jet on Tuesday. "Our invitations were in the form of a plane ticket," said Lachey. "We told them they were going away and the attire was 'island chic.' It was all very vague." The surprise must have been an exciting one for guests, who found themselves on beautiful Necker Island, the exclusive luxury retreat owned by Sir Richard Branson. TLC's special will give viewers an inside look at the intimate ceremony, as well as pre-wedding events from Minnillo dress shopping to her wedding shower.

This is not the first time the natural beauty of the BVI has been featured on film. The legendary Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition has been shot in the BVI three times, starting in 1980, again in 1999, and most recently in February 2011. The BVI is also a go-to location for weddings and honeymoons: its luxurious accommodations, pristine white-sand beaches, clear-blue seas, exciting outdoor activities and fine dining options make it a newlyweds' paradise. To see some of the BVI's incredible island attributes, tune in to Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding on TLC on Saturday, July 30th.
