Country star Alison Krauss tops bluegrass nominees

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Reuters) - Alison Krauss and her band
Union Station picked up 14 nominations on Tuesday from the
International Bluegrass Music Association, which holds its 16th
annual awards show October 27 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.

Krauss and band were nominated in the entertainer of the
year competition as well as being cited in the instrumental
group, vocal group, song of the year, album and gospel recorded
performance categories.

Krauss was nominated for the female vocalist award and
members of her band also picked up individual nominations.

Five-time female vocalist of the year Rhonda Vincent and
her band, The Rage, were nominated for eight awards.

Other performers earning multiple nominations included
Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Blue Highway, the Del McCoury
Band, Larry Sparks, Mountain Heart, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky
Thunder and Paul Williams.
