Stiller eyed for ‘Museum’ curse comedy

November 7, 2005

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Ben Stiller is in
negotiations to star in “A Night at the Museum,” a family
comedy set to begin shooting early next year.

The 20th Century Fox project centers on a goodhearted but
bumbling security guard, to be played by Stiller, who works at
a museum of natural history and accidentally brings down an
ancient curse that causes the animals and insects on display to
come to life.

The film, which will shoot in Vancouver, is slated for a
holiday 2006 release. Shawn Levy (“The Pink Panther”) directs.

Stiller provided his voice for DreamWorks’ “Madagascar” and
last appeared in theaters with “Meet the Fockers.” His next
appearance will be in “The Mirror,” a comedy about Stiller who
awakens one day to find a mirror image passing itself off as
the real star.
