‘Red’ alert for ‘Green Mile’ director

By Nellie Andreeva

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Feature filmmaker Frank
Darabont will direct NBC's drama pilot "Seeing Red," which
centers on an eccentric, brilliant cop with the ability to talk
to dead victims, who help him solve his cases.

Darabont will also executive produce the pilot with the
project's writer, Graham Yost ("Speed").

Darabont was nominated for an Oscar for writing "The
Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile," both of which he
also directed, and in the best picture category for producing
"Mile" with David Valdes. He last directed the Jim Carrey bomb
"The Majestic."

Additionally, NBC has picked up two comedy pilots, "Alpha
Mom" and an untitled sitcom starring comedian Kevin Brennan.

"Alpha Mom" is about a corporate mom who tries to balance
kids, a stay-at-home husband and a job.

The untitled project stars Brennan as a New York guy whose
younger brother moves in with him while attending NYU.
