Consolidated Puma Minerals Corp.: Initial 2006 Exploration Drill Program Results From East Pansky PGE Property
Posted on: Tuesday, 28 March 2006, 15:00 CST
Consolidated Puma Minerals Corp. (TSX VENTURE:CPW) ("Puma"), a 40% owned affiliate of Bema Gold Corporation (TSX:BGO)(AMEX:BGO)(AIM:BAU) is pleased to announce initial results from the 2006 diamond drill program at the East Pansky-Platinum Group Elements ("PGE") property. East Pansky is located in the Kola Peninsula of northwestern Russia on the eastern border of the Federova Tundra project where Barrick Gold Corporation is currently evaluating an advanced PGE exploration program.
The East Chuarvi prospect continues to return high grade results as demonstrated by hole P-455 (13.95 metres at 5.77 grams per tonne (g/t) PGE+gold, including 6.6 metres at 9.22 g/t PGE+gold). Hole P-454 (1.5 metres at 6.80 g/t PGE+gold) is also significant as this extends the depth of mineralization 100 metres below any previous drilling. This confirms the continuous nature of the high grade mineralization encountered to date, within an area of previous drilling.
Drill results received for the first three holes are summarized in the table below: ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hole From To Length Au Pt Pd PGE+Au Pd/Pt # (m) (m) (m) g/t g/t g/t g/t Ratio ----------------------------------------------------------------- P-452 190.70 191.20 0.50 0.31 2.28 6.57 9.16 2.9 P-453 167.50 170.00 2.50 0.18 0.90 2.02 3.10 2.3 188.30 189.30 1.00 0.28 1.77 4.69 6.74 2.6 Incl. 188.30 188.80 0.50 0.54 3.43 9.13 13.10 2.7 P-454 416.95 418.45 1.50 0.23 2.03 4.53 6.80 2.2 P-455 113.80 127.75 13.95 0.29 1.79 3.69 5.77 2.1 Incl. 114.80 121.55 6.60 0.50 2.79 5.94 9.22 2.1 Incl. 116.30 119.40 3.10 0.68 3.83 7.67 12.18 2.0 Incl. 118.20 118.60 0.40 1.12 10.60 14.70 26.42 1.4 Incl. 122.50 125.10 2.60 0.25 2.06 3.81 6.12 1.9 -----------------------------------------------------------------
The above results were submitted to Mekhanobr laboratories in St Petersburg, Russia and a full QA/QC program was inserted that includes, reference standards, blanks and duplicates (field, split and pulp). The QA/QC for these drill hole assays was within required limits.
The 2006 drill program consists of 15,000 metres of drilling on the East Chuarvi mineralized zone and three targets along strike. The three targets are as follows: Besimyanyi located 1 kilometre east of East Chuarvi, Churozerski located 3 kilometres east and Chuarvi which is 5 kilometres west of East Chuarvi. All of these targets are located along the 50 kilometre strike length target horizon on the East Pansky property.
The Qualified Person for this project is Tom Garagan (P.Geo) Vice President of Exploration for Bema Gold Corporation and a Director of Puma. Bema manages the affairs of Puma.
