Superior Galleries to Offer Landmark, Multi-Million-Dollar Good River Collection in May 28-30 Beverly Hills Elite Auction

Superior Galleries, Inc. ("Superior") (OTCBB:SPGR) announced today that it has secured a landmark collection for its upcoming May 28th-30th Beverly Hills Elite Auction, to be held immediately prior to the Long Beach Coin Expo. Named The Good River Collection, this multi-million-dollar consignment, put together over the course of several years by a number of the country's foremost numismatists, includes hundreds of rare and high-grade coins, adding to a sale already estimated by Superior Galleries management to be one of the firm's best in many years.
Commented Superior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Larry Abbott, "I knew from my first discussion with our client that this would be an impressive consignment. However, I must admit that I was not prepared for the number of exceedingly rare and superb quality coins that I saw when I was able to view the collection in person. The fact that there are four Panama Pacific $50 gold coins in this consignment, including an NGC MS67, speaks volumes about what bidders can expect to see in this sale. The Panama-Pacific Octagonal $50 in NGC MS67 is probably the finest known specimen, with none graded higher by either of the two major grading services. Recently, in an auction in 2005, a similar specimen realized almost $290,000. In totality, this offering of Panama Pacific Coins, if purchased together, would be the finest known set to ever be assembled. The entire collection will be on display at our bourse table at the Central States Numismatic Convention later this month, so dealers and collectors will be able to see first-hand the quality of these coins."
Other highlights from The Good River Collection include: 1794 Half Dime NGC MS67, 1797 $10 Large Eagle NGC MS61, 1909 $20 NGC Proof 66, 1879 Flowing Hair $4 Stella NGC PR63, 1839 25c No Drapery NGC MS66, 1918/7-S 25c PCGS MS64, 1860-O Seated Liberty Dollar NGC MS66, 1897-O Morgan Dollar PCGS MS66, 1901 Philadelphia Morgan Dollar NGC MS65, 1921 Peace Dollar NGC MS67, and hundreds of other superb quality coins.
Said Paul Song, Vice President of Auctions, "Whether you are an old hand at auctions or a new collector considering attending your first live event, I urge you attend this sale and treat yourself to an amazing array of outstanding coins and a first class auction experience in our beautiful Beverly Hills gallery. Although The Good River Collection is certainly our most valuable consignment to our May sale, it is only one of many fresh consignments that combine to make this an auction that should not be missed. Lot viewing begins two weeks prior to the sale, and potential bidders should call soon to arrange viewing and for assistance with local accommodations or any special requests."
