Trade Winds Reports Results Including 155.93 G/Tonne Gold Over 0.5 Metres Near Surface Along M Zone Structural Corridor at Detour Lake, Ontario

Posted on: Tuesday, 11 July 2006, 00:00 CDT

Trade Winds Ventures Inc. (TSX-V: TWD; FWB: TVR) is pleased to report final fire assay results from seven diamond drill holes that tested the M Zone Structural Corridor on Sections 15180E and 16540E.

The purpose of drilling three holes, TWDDH-170, TWDDH-174, and TWDDH-177, on Section 15180E was to determine the continuity of the M Zone Structural Corridor in an untested 500-metre gap between previous diamond drilling programs. The M Zone ultramafic and numerous other gold bearing structures were intersected in all three holes. A total of 15, 24 and 11 gold bearing zones containing at least 1.0 grams/tonne gold over a minimum width of 1.0 metres are contained in holes TWDDH-170, 174 and 177, respectively. The highest values obtained from drilling on Section 15180E occur in a hanging wall zone in TWDDH-174, which returned 12.07 grams/tonne gold over 4.0 metres including 47.0 grams/tonne gold over 1.0 metre.

Diamond drilling on fill-in Section 16540E entailed the completion of four holes, TWDDH-159, TWDDH-161, TWDDH-164 and TWDDH-167. The purpose of these holes was to test the M Zone Structural Corridor between Sections 16500E and 16580E previously drilled by Placer Dome in 1995-1996. Placer Dome had previously located high grade gold mineralization in the ultramafic of 10.48 grams/tonne gold over 4.35 metres and 6.48 grams/tonne gold over 5.0 metres in holes 464-87 and 464-096 on Section 16500E. Drilling by Trade Winds on Section 16540E returned 15.28 grams/tonne gold over 5.0 metres, including 75.40 grams/tonne gold over 1.0 metre from the ultramafic unit and is within 60 metres from surface. Hole TWDDH-161 returned 155.4 g/tonne gold over 0.5 metres (4.5 oz/ton gold over 1.64 feet).

Details of significant gold fire assay results received for holes completed on Sections 15180E and 16540E are as follows:

Mr. Ian Lambert, Trade Winds' CEO, commented: "Trade Winds continues to identify exceptional high grade gold values, with visible gold occurring in 85% of the holes reported along the M Zone Structural Corridor, over a distance of 1.2 kilometres from Sections 15540E to 16740E. We are very pleased to be able to report these exceptional high grade gold results from the 2006 winter drilling program."

Mr. Lorne Warner, P. Geo., is the qualified person for the Trade Winds Detour Lake projects. Trade Winds, as operator of the projects, has implemented a quality control program to ensure best practices in the sampling and analysis of the drill core. All fire assay results are being provided by ALS Chemex, North Vancouver, BC, an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
